My recent paintings are multi-paneled and combine text, floral forms, sentimental objects and patterns. I incorporate writings taken from a collection of letters, postcards and dream journals. The paintings grasp at moments that defy completion and contain the uneasy half-essence that dreams leave behind.
In another series of work, I create temporary, hardly perceptible interventions in the land and use photographs to document their different states of being. Marks or text in the landscape, made with materials such as ink, chalk or thread, are combined with plants, rocks, dirt, flowers, etc. and become altered by the elements. These pieces explore the ephemeral quality of life and dissolve within a relatively short period- from a few moments to a few months.
